Firstly, you will need to visit your ophthalmologist who will determine whether you are a suitable candidate for this lens. During this visit you will undergo a detailed eye examination, followed by a consultation session with your doctor.
If you are a suitable candidate, the 1stQ AddOn® can be placed in front of your existing intraocular lens (IOL) to improve vision at multiple distances.

What results can be achieved with the AddOn intraocular lens?

You have undergone a procedure where your cloudy cataractous lens was replaced with a monofocal intraocular lens (IOL).Although your vision improved after surgery, you probably still need to wear glasses to see clearly for near and intermediate vision activities, such as reading, looking at a cell phone, or working at the computer, or when looking at something farther in the distance, such as when driving.

ANY QUESTIONS?
SEE BELOW THE MOST FREQUENT QUESTIONS REGARDING THE ADDON TRIFOCAL IOL. FOR FURTHER INFORMATION PLEASE CONTACT US.
Your ophthalmologist will make the determination based on an in-depth consultation and detailed eye examination.
The procedure for implanting the 1stQ AddOn® IOL usually takes between 15 and 30 minutes. Similar to cataract surgery, it is done in an operating room, but it is
a less invasive procedure.
Although your vision will improve immediately after the implantation, it can take a few weeks or even a few months to achieve the best possible result. Nevertheless, please consult your doctor about any concerns you have after surgery.
Most patients receiving the 1stQ AddOn® Trifocal IOL are able to eliminate their need for glasses. However, individual differences might occur, and the final visual outcome depends on several other ocular conditions.
Generally, statutory health insurance schemes do not pay
for this surgery. Please, contact your health insurance provider directly to find out whether private health insurance would cover the costs.
Advanced camera objectives use a group of different lenses to achieve optimal imaging performance. The two-lens system with the 1stQ AddOn® works in a very similar way.
